Its the most wonderful time of the year.  Christmas bliss is in full swing at the Henry home. This time of the year really just makes my heart so happy. From cozy fires, to Christmas lights to spending quality time with loved ones, all warm and cozy inside. Here are just a few little Christmas touches I've added to our home so far. Theme colours this year are "pink and gold" i just couldn't part with my summer pink throw pillows for winter. So there staying put.  I picked up a few new pink ornaments to add onto my tree. Stay tuned for more Christmas inspiration coming to Sarah's Blog soon..... "Get Inspired Today"

#H A S H T A G...  Everything is GOLD at the Henry home this Christmas season!  The last few years our "theme colour" has been red.  So this year I thought I'd change it up and incorporate a lot more gold.  I must say I'm loving the gold, simple and elegant all at once.  Gold is extravagant, timeless and so inviting.  I also love that if I choose to add a bit of colour next year all my gold pieces will still work beautifully as it is a neutral colour to pair up with some brighter colours.   I believe you can make your home beautiful even on a budget.  So don't get discouraged thinking you need hundreds of dollars to make your home look elegant this Christmas season.  I like to change things up often, so I never really spend a lot.  Sometimes just getting creative with some older pieces and changing them up, it can become new.  I even found some really cute things at the dollar store this year that honestly you would never know!  So I thought I would share a few little things I did around my home to inspire you during this Christmas season.

I don't know about you, but I just love Christmas time.  For me spiritually celebrating Jesus's birthday, the lights, the music, the smell of pine, the food, the baking, the warm fires on snowy days, sipping hot coco and time spent with family and friends.  The list could go on for me.  There's just so many amazing things to be thankful and grateful for.  Christmas has a way of making people feel all the feelings.  From the twinkling Christmas tree to the thoughtful gifts beneath it,  there's just something heartwarming about the holiday.
On the flipside some people turn into the GRINCH so to speak ha ha.  You know the Grinch Who Stole Christmas!  Just a few words to describe them would be... mean, rude, stealing parking spots when the mall is absolutely crazy, getting the middle finger pointed at you for no reason.  All the last minute shoppers stressing over money, and buying out of obligation.  Oh boy!!!

Christmas is fast approaching and only 6 weeks away.  My motivation in writing this blog post today was to remind you to remember to keep the true meaning of what Christmas is really about.  I guess if I had to sum it all up in one word it would be to LOVE.  Gifts and presents are wonderful but don't let that be your main focus this year. I love presents and I love to give but sometimes we put too much emphasis on all the material things when that's really not what's important.  Spending time with loved ones, cooking a nice meal,  or even going out.  Most times its the "little things" that mean the most.  So don't get overwhelmed or caught up with thinking you need to buy all these expensive gifts to make people happy.  I recently read a quote and it stated "Friendship isn't a big thing, its a million little things". I really love that.

So lets remember to stay "Bright and Merry" as this Christmas season is fast approaching.
BRIGHT (Adjective) Giving out or reflecting a lot of light; shining.
MERRY (Adjective) Full of cheerfulness, liveliness, and good feelings.

Quotes that will make you feel Bright and Merry:
"Christmas isn't just a day, its a frame of mind." -Valentine Davies
"One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas day." - Andy Rooney
"Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone." -Charles Schulz
"My idea of Christmas, weather old fashioned or modern, is very simple: Loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?" -Bob Hope

Much Love,
Sarah Henry
